When it comes to educating electricians on national electrical codes, Russ has earned the nickname "The Code Guy"!
Russ started in the electrical trade as an apprentice in 1985. He worked his way up to become a journeyman electrician and then eventually became a Master Electrician and Licensed Construction Supervisor. In 1999 Russ became an Electrical Instructor for The Peterson School of Engineering in Woburn, MA where he developed his passion for teaching and quickly became Department Head of Electrical Instruction. Now he is an Author and Consultant for Electrical Construction & Maintenance Magazine (EC&M), the number one online resource for the electrical design, construction, and maintenance industry. In addition to his monthly contributions to EC&M, he continues to provide electrical professionals with, educational materials such as textbooks and presentations, as well as Electrical Code seminars, and Arc-Flash Awareness training seminars helping to educate thousands of electricians over the years. Russ has been an active member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Electrical Section and has authored numerous Electrical Code revisions to help improve safety for the electrical Industry. Russ is also a member and certified Electrical Inspector of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI).
